Foreign citizens may enter Uzbekistan and transit through its territory only if they have entry visas in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan. With the exception of citizens of countries for which a visa-free entry regime (to 91 countries), a visa free-transit (to 47 countries) and an electronic entry visa (to 54 countries) are established by bilateral international treaties of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Decrees of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan (the list of such countries and information is provided on link).
1.1. PASSPORT REQUIREMENTS
All participants in the 43rd session of the General Conference of UNESCO are required to possess an international passport that is valid for a minimum of 6 months from the date of entry to Uzbekistan, with sufficient pages for visa stamps.
It is mandatory that the passport or travel document be recognized and valid for the return of its bearer and that it does not contain any restriction or condition, whether it is an ordinary, diplomatic, or special passport.
1.2. VISA REQUIREMENTS
Only registered persons will be eligible to apply for visas, where required, and to enter the territory of the Host Country to attend in Conference. Please note that UNESCO will be unable to intervene in any visa decisions taken by the authorities of the Government of Republic of Uzbekistan.
(i) The Permanent Delegation to UNESCO provides the list of participants with copies of their passports and personal photos (3,5x4,5)(to whom a visa is required) to the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Paris.
(ii) Visa applications will be reviewed within three days. To check visa status visit: link.
(iii) Participants from countries where there is an embassy or consulate of Uzbekistan will receive a visa at the diplomatic missions of Uzbekistan.
(iv) Participants from countries where there is no Embassy or Consulate of Uzbekistan will receive a visa upon arrival at the international airports of Uzbekistan (participants obtaining visas on arrival will receive a letter from the Embassy of Uzbekistan in France through the Permanent Delegations of their countries to UNESCO).
Note: In case of the absence of a diplomatic mission of Uzbekistan, the Permanent Delegation must provide a list divided into two categories. 1. For participants who will be issued a visa sticker at Embassies or Consulates General. 2. For participants who will receive a visa upon arrival at the airports of Uzbekistan.
